Description:

The White-capped or Black Noddy is a seabird from the tern family. It resembles the closely related Brown or Common Noddy, but is smaller with darker plumage, a whiter cap, a longer, straighter beak and shorter tail.

Numbering about 8,000, the Philippine subspecies (A. minutus worcestri) lives exclusively in and around the Tubbataha Reefs in the central Sulu Sea.

Islands in and around the Sulu Sea, Palawan. Images taken at Tubbataha South Islet, Palawan.
