Field Notes

Description:

Pink petals arrange in a 5-pointed start pattern. The leaves are of alternate arrangement, simple,1–3 inches long and broad, palmately lobed with five lobes.

Habitat:

Forested walking trail on McChord AFB.

Notes:

Not photographed, but the Red-Flowering Currant produces edible dark purple berries during the summer.
