Description:
It grows in moist places where there is a snowmelt seep and the contrast of the magenta flower with the green leaves
The leaves grow from a basal rosette and when touch are "rankly aromatic" - A very nice way of saying they stink like a skunk. Parry’s primrose was named in honor of Charles Parry a mountaineer and botanist.
This flower was about 3 inches tall and found at about 10,000 ft elavation
Habitat:
This plant is quite rare and hard to find. It grows in rocky places where there is moisture, such as at the base of alpine cliffs.
This was found in the Uinta Mountains on the Lofty Lake Loop Trail. What a beautiful find
