Description:

Shiny brown cap 8cm across many minute radial splits. colour comes from brown radial fibres. Convex or flat with depressed centre. Cap flesh white and thin. gills white, attached. gill edges slightly wavy and bluntly serrated. spore print white. Stem 7.5 cm long, 1.2 cm wide. uniform thickness. exterior a lighter brown from vertical fibres. tough outer skin. inside white an pithy.

no ring, no volva

vague odor of anise.

Habitat:

on leaf litter and bits of wood in bamboo stand.
