Field Notes

Description:

A young snake. Length= 0.5 m, Girth=3 cm. A mark near the eye. Brown black yellow scales. White belly. Is that a trinket snake?

Habitat:

West Himalayan foothills.

Notes:

I had always been waiting to handle a snake. I knew I wouldn't be scared when the moment came. Today I rescued the first ever snake in my life. A young one. It was sitting quietly in the cupboard in the lab when a student spotted it. It had had a meal and was resting. I brought it home and released it in the wild.
