Description:

Small beetle. Probably Chasmatopterus sp. This genera happens in western Mediterranean: south France, Iberian peninsula and north of Morocco. There are 11 especies They are small beetles, 3 - 8 mm. with black body and brown elitra. They show dense hairiness at the dorsal side. Females can be completely black. Imago fly in springtime. They are fond of flowers and prefer Gramineae and Compositae

Evergreen oak forest
