Field Notes

Description:

Duck is a common name for a large number of species in the Anatidae family of birds, which also include geese and swans. Ducks are mostly aquatic birds, mostly smaller than geese and swans and can be found in both fresh and salt water.

Habitat:

Generally, ducks can be found near water sources such as lakes, rivers, ponds or streams. Ducks like places where there is plenty of food and there are no predators around, so that they feel safe.
