Description:

The Honey mesquite has branches that are small in diameter, very dark bark and appear to just sort of flop around in an unorganized fashion. They have a feathery foliage.. This tree normally reaches 20–30 ft (6.1–9.1 m), this one was only about 16 feet. It is part of the legume family.

Notes:

The Mesquite is considered an invasive species and is difficult to eradicate. It is considered to have a medium growth rate.
