Field Notes

Description:

Subspecies from Java : S. s. seloputo. It was surprise me to see the owls during the day. I found 2 owls on the big tree, the day before I left Baluran National Park - East Java - Indonesia. What a lovely suprised, I'm over the moon !!!

Habitat:

Lowland open forest and forest edge, stands of trees near habitation, orchards, suburban and urban parks, and paddyfields; also noted in mangrove forest and open deforested areas. Sea-level to c. 1000 m, mostly below 800 m.
