Field Notes

Description:

Only about 3" long, a female with gray down the entire backside and a bright yellow throat with a white belly.

Habitat:

Circle B Bar Reserve, Lakeland, FL

Notes:

I chased this little bird for about a half hour trying to get a picture of it . . . any picture of it, but she kept flitting around gathering nesting material and not resting for more than two seconds at a time. Finally, I caught her very briefly as she was gathering some Spanish moss, and then she was gone for good (seen in the last photo). This is my 400th spotting! A lifer for me.

Thank you Hema - I take it they regularly use Spanish moss for their nests?
Congrats, Music! Great catch . If you cannot find them in Spanish moss you cannot find them anywhere!!
