Description:

This tree is alternate and simple and is extremely large, the lobes are very deep.

Habitat:

Thrives in the upland sites such as ridges, and middle and upper slope. This tree also grows in a variety of soils doing well on poor, sandy, dry, or even gravelly soils.

Notes:

Acorns eaten by gray squirrels, mice, deer, wild turkey, and other birds.
