Field Notes

Description:

There were two of these birdies in my front yard but one seemed to keep chasing the other off the tree they were feeding from. It didn't follow the other one after it chased it away from the tree. He (or she?) didn't mind the rainbow lorikeets feeding next to him though.
They were smaller than a magpie but bigger than a rainbow lorikeet.
Can anyone tell me what they are? I've never seen them in my area before.
