Field Notes

Description:

There was a flock of these gulls...adults and semi-adults both. They flocked to the lakeside restaurants for scraps and were quite unafraid of the tourists although somewhat wary.Legs are read.

Habitat:

On Lake Pangong ( Pangong Tso), Ladakh-a cold desert area at altitude 14,270 ft. They seemed to be oblivious to the cold and swam happily in the bitingly cold waters...the Lake is largely devoid of vegetation/fish. I wonder what they ate.

Notes:

Harsh calls.
