Field Notes

Description:

A 2-toned blue male Damselfly of 3.5 cm in length. The head, eyes and thorax are sky blue, while the abdomen is a turquoise blue.

Habitat:

Along the San Vicente River of the Chiflón Waterfall Park, Chiapas, Mexico.

Notes:

Many thanks to Kathy Claypole Biggs of California for the generic identification. She writes "This beauty is one of 2 look-alike species: A. anceps (Cerulean Dancer ) or A. westfalli (Westfall’s Dancer), both of which occur in Chiapas".
