Description:

A brilliant blue kingfisher with deep chocolate brown head,neck and under parts,conspicuous white throat and breast.Long heavy pointed bill.Seen in singles near water-bodies.

Habitat:

Near ponds, big puddles,flooded paddy field,seashores.
