Field Notes

Description:

A large, round orange gourd on a vine- Large umbrella like leaves and yellow-orange flowers.

Habitat:

A city park. As pumpkins are not (to my knowledge) native to southern California, I can only surmise that somebody smashed a pumpkin last Halloween and some of the seeds took root.
