Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized plant with an arching profile. Alternating, leaves with a lanceolate shape. Zig-zag stem. Small flowers hang down from leaf joints, some singly, some with two flowers. Native wildflower.

Habitat:

Temperate forest. Sunken Meadow State Park, NY.
