Field Notes

Description:

This eagle formed part of the flying exhibit I have talked about in previous spottings (http://www.uilenhof.be/old/).
Bird of prey dark brown, with lighter golden-brown plumage on the nape.
For centuries, this species has been one of the most highly regarded birds used in falconry, with the Eurasian subspecies having been used to hunt and kill prey such as Gray Wolves (Canis lupus) in some native communities.

Habitat:

In the wild they can be found in the Northern Hemisphere.
