Description:

In the finca I stayed in near La Cruz, this baby sloth fell from a tree and was rejected by the mother. The family adopted it and fed it with Goat's milk from a baby's bottle, 3 times a day. It was thriving, and when this photo was taken, it was 6 months old.

a very belated thanks bayucca for that information...
The hairs are actually VERY soft!
Wow thanks bayucca... must have missed this post. Wonderful photos! Seems the hair on the 2-toed sloth is not so curly, but still so soft.
thanks Ardarsha B S...
yes iness1, he was adorable.
thanks to all who fav'd this gorgeous little sloth.
thanks Mona... You are welcome.
Abandoned sloth kid, fallen from a tree. Mothers do usually not rescue them, too dangerous for themselves! This kid was afterwards brought to a sloth sanctury, where they nurse them with very good chances for survival and re-integretion into the wilderness. http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominikhofer/4626633121/in/set-72157623443225239 http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominikhofer/4626634947/in/set-72157623443225239 http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominikhofer/4626637223/in/set-72157623443225239 http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominikhofer/4627246760/in/set-72157623443225239 Actually a VERY smooth "fur"...

Precious pictures. Thank you so much for sharing.
Maria, you can't imaging how beautiful it was! Cuddling it and feeding made the heart happy... And the hair was still soft and silky.
eh!eh!i imagine we haved several little cats needing milk,it's very cute ,but a Baby Sloth it is hapiness :-)
Yes Gilma, it is my favourite also. Pity the exposure was so dark. I had to lighten it a lot and thought it unsuitable for the front photo.
Oh Antonio, you can't imagine how cute it was in real life! And it drank milk from that bottle just like a baby.
Wow Pam what a cute face,it's realy lovely, beautiful spotting, congrats and thanks for sharing
