Species ID Suggestions

Very nice SarangBhand! Since you know the identity of your organism (from your use of its common name, Deccan banded gecko), please go ahead and fill in the scientific name field. In this case the scientific name is Geckoella deccanensis. Here's a link http://reptile-database.reptarium.cz/species?genus=Geckoella&species=deccanensis In terms of the Project Noah database, adding the scientific name will make your spotting a complete record, and allow groups and individuals to easily find your spotting, and use the data it provides. It will also move your spotting off of the "unidentified" spottings list. If you are interested in learning how species are named and why this is important, see Project Noah's blog entry http://blog.projectnoah.org/post/28702494728/whats-in-a-name Thanks!
