I believe this is wild ginger, but not completely positive.

Habitat:

woodland floor, Greenbush Township, MN.

Thanks Kudjomojo! It was not a vine, and the fruit really threw me as well. Not sure at all here, but moved to Ohio and I have a similar plant growing in what would be an old flower bed off my front porch. So it still stumps me.
I'm not sure. The leaves look like they could be ginger but the flower/fruit doesn't quite look right. Every ginger I have seen had a dark maroon flower. Also, it's hard to tell from the pictures but, is this a vine? Because ginger is not viney.
