Field Notes

Description:

Slender, all black bird (except tiny white dot near gape) with sharply forked tail. The nest is firmly placed on a robust fork. Good understanding of the principles of stable base!!!

Habitat:

Tall tree on the side of a water body...I walk around this in the morning sometimes...today I was lucky to see the bird fly across the road and come and sit near the nest...I am still not sure if it sat IN the nest or near it. The nest was very high up..at least 14-20 feet above me.
The last shot shows how it is shaded by the leaves.

Notes:

On the 10th I walked past the tree and looked up....there were 3 chicks! YAY!!!
