Hi bayucca, Thanks again for your help, corrected
"I'm just a photographer who loves nature." Me too! I suggest a compromise with the ID: Common name: Short-horned Leaf Beetle Scientific ID: Coptocephala sp. You may add in the description section: Chrysomelidae, Cryptocephalinae, Clytrini, possibly Coptocephala sp. and Coptocephala cf. rubicund. I hope that Michael is passing by, he for sure can solve our mystery ;-)...
Hi bayucca, Thanks for the great effort of finding the name of my bugs. I'm just a photographer who loves nature. regards Ivan
Hmm, Clytra laeviuscula should have a black pronotum, yours is brown. Sometimes there is a sexual dimorphism, but I did not find a Clytra laeviuscula with brown pronotum.
After an intense search, I am pretty sure it is a Chrysomelidae, Cryptocephalinae? Clytrini, short-horned leaf beetle? As closest guess Coptocephala sp. and as a shy guess Coptocephala cf. rubicunda? http://www.biolib.cz/en/image/id13654/ http://www.biolib.cz/en/image/dir815/id147528/?viewall=1&termflt=4946 http://www.biol.uni.wroc.pl/cassidae/European%20Chrysomelidae/coptocephala%20rubicunda.htm http://www.biol.uni.wroc.pl/cassidae/coptocephala.pdf
This is awesome Ivan! I've never found an insect in the act of laying eggs. Well done!
