Field Notes
Description:
Grasshoppers are medium to large insects that are brightly colored to warn predators that they taste bad. Females are larger and males are more colorful.

Notes:
Sometimes referred to as the short-horned grasshopper so they won't be confused with bush crickets or katydids.
