Description:

A pink-colored naturally occurring salt lagoon. The pink results from the accumulation of the red pigment beta carotene.produced by the green alga Dunaliella Salina.

Habitat:

Salt lagoon.

Notes:

I just thought I'd add something completely different.

I have been to both of them and they are magical!!!
You're welcome. There are two of these naturally occurring in Australia. I wish I could have gotten a photo from higher ground. As it was, I had to stand on the hood of the camper to get this one. The Indian Ocean is just over that rise in the background.
