Field Notes

Description:

A small, brown sparrow-like bird heavily streaked with dark brown. Blends with its stark, barren stony background.

Habitat:

By the side of Pangong Lake-a high altitude, brackish water lake in the Himalayas. It came to drink sweet water from a leaking pipe. I was trying to catch some other birds and initially mistook it for a female sparrow.
