Field Notes

Description:

Small bird with intense yellow coloured head that catches the eye. Bill and legs are black. Black hind-neck collar. Bold white patches on wings.This is most likely a male.

Habitat:

A swampy enclosed area in the heart of Leh town in Ladakh...right by a major road and shops.

Notes:

Saw this species beside mountaineous streams at altitudes higher than Leh, too.
