I totally forgot I've found Cantharellus subalbidus myself. So here you can see it has no real gills: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/12798555. Try and compare to the link I've sent you earlier!
That is why I could not ID it originally. Guess I best not eat it. Only kidding. I will review the link you provided. Thanks to both of you. ID is tough. I appreciate all the help I can get. Doreen
Hi, I'm not so sure about the id. Cantharellus has no real gills, these mushrooms do. I'd go for Ampulloclitocybe (Clitocybe) clavipes, or some othere Clitocybe species! http://www.mushroomexpert.com/ampulloclitocybe_clavipes.html
