Field Notes

Description:

Dark with red vent. Looks scaly because of feather pattern.

Habitat:

Eating bananas that I put out on my rooftop terrace. It is aggressive and territorial; a bit of a bully to the Red-whiskered bulbul that comes to feed.

Notes:

This is a commonly seen bird in this part of India.
