Field Notes

Description:

medium size, colorful bird, this is a male

Habitat:

tropical rainforest

Notes:

I watched this bird for a while in the campground in Rio Claro reserve. It hung around in the same large tree, almost always landing on the same branch. It would fly into the bottom of a partially destroyed large wasp (or something similar) and come back with a meal and eat it on the branch.
