Description:

About 25 mm in length, colored as shown. Very flat from top to bottom.

Habitat:

Found on exterior wall of a lodge in a rural, heavily wooded area near a river. Map location is approximate.

Notes:

The normal host for this insect is wood rats, but during times when the adult insects disperse, they may occasionally feed on the blood of people during the night.
