Description:

Half-inch long insect. Grouped in cluster of approx. 30 individuals. Prominate red wing covers, otherwise black. Long, pointed proboscis / mouth parts. Not associated with any particular. Sky is slightly overcast. Temp. Is near 75 - 80 F. Seen at 6 p.m. in Fisk, Butler County, MO. Home surrounded by new crop, 4-foot tall corn approx. 50 - 75 feet from home.
