Description:

The black river turtle (Rhinoclemmys funerea), or black wood turtle is a species of turtle in the family Geoemydidae. It is found in Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama.

Habitat:

Seen in a natural pond in the La Selva Biological Reaearch Station.
