Field Notes

Description:

A tree in a church yard. Most of the flowers had already fallen off the tree.

Notes:

The last two photos are of two flowers laying on the ground. They look like they never opened. This tree is also called a Yellow Bell Tree in the Philippines but that plant is a different species (Allamanda cathartica Linn.). The flowers of these two plants are similar but the leaves are very different. The term Yellow Bell and also Golden Trumpet are used for at least 2-3 species of flowers.

This tree is also called a Lucky Nut Tree because the fruit somewhat resembles a "Chinese Lucky Nut." I could find nothing definitive on what a "Chinese Lucky Nut" is however.
