Hey, Sequoia. Without doing a lot of research, I don't think the Wikipedia link meant to say that they are the same thing or necessarily related ... I think it's just an overlap in the common name. Happens more often than you would think.

You're absolutely correct! Thank you so much! Wikipedia notes that it is sometimes "used for chicory". Do you know if this means in place of chicory? Or is the cornflower a cousin to chicory?
Some kind of cornflower, I think, genus Centaurea ...
