Field Notes

Description:

Members of the squirrel family, they resemble squirrels but have larger bodies and smaller tails. Their fur is a dark/light brown and the fur on their bellies is more yellow.

Habitat:

These Marmots lived under some boulders near a waterfall. Fir and Lodge-pole pine grew nearby. Rocky Mountain temperate zone. approx 7000 ft.
