Description:

Large stonefly (Salmonfly) found on the Deschutes river in central Oregon.

Habitat:

Aquatic (larval stages).

Notes:

I have heard of the famous Salmonfly hatch of the western USA and had to see it for myself. It is amazing to see how many bugs can appear within days and 1-2 weeks into the hatch, the vegetation along the river is covered with Stoneflies.
