Field Notes

Description:

This Case Moth larva stuck such a long stick onto it's little house that it wobbled back and forth when moving. Maybe an example of carrying camouflage to such an extreme that it loses it's effectiveness.

Habitat:

Forest and secondary growth under the San Cristobal Bridge on the Highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 25, 1,500 meters.
