Field Notes

Description:

Stragglers of a congregation of lily caterpillars (Noctuidae) having decimated my mammoth swamp lily. This time I was too late to save the plant I think. (Previously http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7330005 and http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/455756009 ).

Habitat:

Observed in a large semi-urban yard/garden next to a patch of disturbed remnant forest on Crinum asiaticum. This is in the equatorial tropics of northern New Guinea.
