Field Notes

Description:

Small sunbird. Throat yellow shading into light cream on the undersurface. Chin has a black band extending down the middle of the throat. Thin, needle-like, slightly curved beak. Bright black eyes. Blackish legs.

Habitat:

On the nectar-bearing flower of a potted plant on the roof top terrace of an urban area.

Notes:

It can hover; which leads to the mistaken impression that it is a Humming bird.

This is my 500th spotting. Many thanks to all at PN...for all their help.
