Habitat:

Common rapace in Valley of lake Geneva; here seen from my balcony perched on border of a prairie, periphery of a small town, close to protected forest and some agricultural lands.

And thank you for this information too, I was not aware of that distinction between 'hawks' and 'buzzards'
I wrote the comment "Hawks are so impressive in any pose" and then saw you called it a buzzard. So, once again I checked it out and found this: "In the Old World, members of this genus are called "buzzards", but "hawk" is used in North America. Thanks for the photos and for making me dig. Beautiful birds.
