Thanks for commenting I know that it's not usually a good idea to interact with the young but didn't see the mother for about an hour or so and it was at the dog park so didn't want it to become a snack

What a cute photo! Really though it is best not to interact with fledglings you see on the ground. Mom is usually close by & will continue to feed & protect them for a few days or even weeks after they have left the nest & human intervention can scare her away, so it is best to watch & photograph from a short distance. Welcome to the community!
