we use live traps to catch rats on the caravan park where I live and this little fella was in one of the traps.he may have been in there for a couple of days and was a bit wobbly when we released him.Gave it some water and cat food and placed it in a safe place and it was soon quite happy. We have lots of hedgehogs where we live and have found that they will eat pretty much anything,we have seen them eating pizza, chicken drumsticks, allsorts! Fascinating little creatures.
Seems like you may have been involved in rescuing this little hedgehog? can you tell us more about your spotting?
Welcome to Project Noah, mdabbs52, I hope you like the site as much we do; there are many features you can explore: I invite you to go to http://www.projectnoah.org/faq where you will find the purpose and “rules” of Project Noah. There is a blog http://blog.projectnoah.org/ where we post articles from spotters with special insight into different organisms. There are also the chats for help with identification, and to comment on your own and others’ spottings. Look at the global and local missions to put your spottings into:http://www.projectnoah.org/missions Enjoy yourself here, see you around!
