Field Notes

Habitat:

Canal/deciduous habitat

Notes:

Another new tortoise beetle for me. This one was much smaller than the mottled tortoise beetles that I usually find, and much more calm. It allowed me to take a dozen or so photos before finally retreating to the underside of the leaf.

Thanks Stephanie! I was really excited to find this one. Look in the low vegetation in the shady spots. They seem to really come out right after a rain.
Your photos are great! I can't wait to find a tortoise beetle!
Thank you very much Rieko:) I was excited to find it.
