Description:
One of the largest butterflies in North America with a wing span at almost 9.5 cm. Pale cream and black stripes with blue and orange spots on the hind wing.
Habitat:
Spotted next to the Snoqualmie river at the Tolt River-John MacDonald Park. Prefer deciduous woodlands, chaparral, conifer forest and moist canyons.
Notes:
Found in western North America.
