A striking black-and-white bird with very long, thin red legs, the Black-necked Stilt is found along the edges of shallow water in open country.

That white patch over its eyes make it look like it has eyelids and gives the bird a sleepy-look to it. I thought that was kind of funny and adds character to the bird.
