Devil's coach horse beetle

This shot was taken in the afternoon on a path leading up to the tip of Monte Generoso (1700 mts.), on the border between Italy and Switzerland above Lake Como, in late summer. Open mountain grassland/pastures. The insect adopted a defensive (threat display) position as I got nearer to shoot.
