Field Notes

Habitat:

Bloodwood or Red Gum?

Notes:

Image one shows a tube made by termites on the bark of this tree. Image three shows the place the tube enters the tree and allows the termites into the heartwood of the tree. Apparently this has beneficial effects for the tree and the wildlife who live in hollow branches and is more the normal situation in these kind of forests
