Iberian Wall Lizard, Lagartija ibérica

Small wall lizard species of the genus Podarcis averaging 5–7 cm adult snout-vent length. The colour and design of the skin is very variable. Generally is brown-greenish, sometimes reddish in the back, neck and head, where small blobs and reticular drawings can appear in males. Lateral bands are very common in females, mainly two thick dark ones bordered by thinner yellowish ones. The breast is flat, yellow coloured. The tail also presents great variability in colours (bluff, greenish, reddish, yellow or even bluish in young specimens). It can be uniform, with two different colours or even with dark spots aligned along the tail. They feed mainly on insects and spiders smaller than 25 mm long, both on the ground and on trees.
