Description:

Red squirrels can be easily identified from other North American tree squirrels by their smaller size, territorial behavior and reddish fur with a white venter (underbelly). Red squirrels are somewhat larger than chipmunks.

Habitat:

American red squirrels are widely distributed across North America. Their range includes most of Canada and east of the Rocky Mountains in the United States.

Notes:

This little squirrel had quite the personality and the first picture shows it squawking at me. In the second picture, it looks like it might have a tick on it's ear. I saw this squirrel at the Sharon Audubon Center.
